An interesting fact, that will most likely come as a surprise to current North Carolina Dames, is that when the Society first started the meeting and agendas of the North Carolina Dames were highly publicized. Articles were written and published in multiple sources, including local newspapers.

The article below was found in the Scrapbooks located in the Nimocks Archives. Published in 1894 the article describes a reorganizing of the North Carolina Society, as dictated by the National Society, and the following initiation of our first official President, as well as two Vice Presidents, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian.
