On February 12, 1923, the NSCDA-NC brought the Carolina Playmakers from Chapel Hill to Thalian Hall in Wilmington to perform a trio of original folk plays about North Carolina. “Agatha” told the story of a wartime romance in Hillsboro. “Off Nags Head” centered on a tragic shipwreck off of the Carolina Coast. “Wilburs Cousin” was a comedy about a college student at Chapel Hill. General admission tickets sold for only $1, while reserved seats cost $1.50.
